Ana Backhaus Photography

Ana Backhaus is a Portuguese documentary photographer and storyteller based in Dubai, UAE, who specializes in capturing the raw, authentic moments that make up everyday life. Being a photographer and a parent, Ana brings a unique understanding to her work. She knows firsthand the emotional roller coaster of raising children, the immense love paired with exhaustion, the days that feel endless yet pass too quickly. Her work spans family photography, wedding documentation, maternity and newborn sessions, personal branding, and event coverage. Based in Dubai, Ana is also available in Lisbon and travels worldwide to document life's most precious moments.

Photography Packages 

01. A DAY IN THE LIFE | A DAY ON HOLIDAYS

These sessions are most popular and 100% Documentary  approach, there are no posed portraits or planned activities from my side. It can be a Full Day (8h) coverage and usually begin when your children wake up and finish when they are into bed on the full day.

I am there to spend the day with you, connect and photograph your real, raw everyday life which includes everything that comes along, hugs, snuggles, arguments, temper tantrums, problem solving, laughs, discipline, adventures and everything else that comes along. I can go with families on holidays, amusement parks, school and so on. Trust me that it will really be relaxed and comfortable for you and your children. Nothing will be imposed and there’s no time pressure.

You are the one to choose what type of day you would like to have me documenting as part of your family story. The beauty is in the unplanned situations, you will want to remember how all these moments make you feel today.

02. HALF A DAY IN THE LIFE

Similar with the Day in life sessions, a Half Day in the Life (4h) is still 100% Documentary and give you the possibility of having covered those spontaneous moments that are part of the day on your daily life that you always wish you could have photos of.

Even though I won’t have the time like in full day in the life, can take intensive photographs of the moments and build your story with what I will witness. These sessions don’t incorporate any type of direction or posed portraits from my end but without you even realising I will be doing some documentary environmental portraits.

03. A MOMENT IN THE LIFE

A moment in the life sessions are a good option if you would like to have some family portraits and also some relaxed, deep and spontaneous photos of your family together. You are the one to choose what type of activity you want me to photograph, I offer you a list but you might have something already in mind.

This sessions have the intention to document a moment of your life and that can also be an activity of your children, a dinner, bed time, anything really. The location of the shoot can be at your home, outdoors, both, or anywhere you connect to and I will be allowed to photograph.

These sessions have a minimum of 2 hours duration because time matters in building connection and in making sure you get the true essence of your family dinamic.

Note: Professional photography in landmark locations of Dubai needs permissions or extra fee. Although, the professional photographer can accompany you in safari tours, beaches and few parks.
